GOAT MILK SOAP!
Our Story...
We began our soap-making journey because we had plenty of goats milk and decided to make a quality soap for our family that was moisturizing, beneficial for our skin and filled with the delicious aroma of essential oils. We researched extensively and experimented with a variety of recipes and ingredients until we came up with a wonderful luxurious, gentle soap that we all loved. Our soap is an old fashion 'Cold Process' lye soap that is made with the most beneficial oil combination for our skin that we could find - Coconut Oil, Palm Oil & Olive Oil was the result! This oil combination also provides wonderful lather, even in hard water. We use it for a body & face soap and even shampoo - just a couple rubs gives lots of lather that washes out wonderfully & leaves hair and scalp feeling clean & shiny! Eventually our friends and extended family started asking for our soap so we decided to make it for others too. Any soap-maker will tell you how expensive it is to buy the oils needed to make soap these days! We are just a small mom & daughter kitchen operation so can't realistically buy in large bulk to cut costs. But we are able to sell our soap for less than most commercial popular goats milk soaps for our customers benefit and also make enough to keep our operation going. Most goat milk soap sells for around $2 per ounce and we price ours @ approximately $1.25 per ounce. We use pretty single molds for our soap bars and weigh each one after it has cured/dried for 4 weeks or longer. This is common for cold-process soap making and allows for a gentle, longer-lasting hard bar that saves $$ when weighing & using.
Our goat milk soap contains only the purest natural ingredients without use of any damaging chemicals, dyes, color additives or preservatives which are used in most commercial soaps. We use Grapefruit Seed Extract for a natural preservative which also provide antibacterial and antioxidant benefits for your skin. We use molds for our soap bars, with a variety to choose from. We make one basic soap scent which is a combination of 3 essential oils that are very attractive and beneficial for men, women & kids! Each bar is nicely wrapped which also makes a wonderful personal gift or great for party favorites.

What's In Our Soap?
Goat Milk:
Luxurious Milk baths have been used for centuries to moisturize & beautify the skin. We use our own fresh, unprocessed goat milk in our soap instead of water because of all its benefits for skin health. Goat milk soap is a refreshing wonderful alternative for healthy or sensitive skin. Dry skin or skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis can greatly benefit using goat milk soap. Goat milk is naturally high in many Vitamins & Minerals necessary to repair damaged skin tissue and maintain healthy skin. It is especially high in Vitamin A which has been proven to reduce wrinkles, control acne and provide relief for psoriasis. Important minerals such as Selenium are naturally found in goats milk which is known to help prevent excessive sun skin damage and even play an important role in preventing skin cancer.
The cream in goats milk provides fat molecules necessary to create a high quality moisturizing soap. People who suffer from dry skin will especially benefit greatly with goat milk soap - especially in the cold dry winter months. Goat milk soap will not dry out your skin like other soaps and keep your skin naturally healthy.
Goat milk also contains Alpha-hydroxy acids such as lactic acid which help to naturally exfoliate dead skin cells. The new cells left on the surface leave your skin smoother and younger looking. Alpha-hydroxy acids effectively break down the bonds which hold dead skin cells intact. This action also provides much relief for many skin conditions by removing irritation. Many water-based soaps use harsh chemical acids to accomplish this but can result in adverse skin-damage.
Olive Oil:
We use only 100% pure Extra Virgin Olive Oil in our soap. This produces a lighter colored soap with dense lather when combined with our Coconut and Palm Oils. Emollient, soothing and antioxidant, Olive Oil is effective in treating and relieving many skin ailments such as burns, sprains, bruises, insect bites and itchy skin.
Extra virgin olive oil has many benefits for your skin. Because this type of oil is extracted from the first pressing of olives, it is most pure and therefore better for improving the health of your skin. The benefits of olive oil soap are countless, such as helping with acne, stretch-marks, anti-aging and generally reducing the occurrence of dry skin. Olive oil is an important ingredient in any successful skin regime due to it’s ingredients. The presence of Vitamin A and E, as well as other anti-oxidants, free radical skin damage is prevented from occurring on your skin while cleansing and providing skin protection of the highest level. The natural vitamins, antioxidants, and anti-aging properties found in 100% Virgin Olive Oil will replenish the moisture and nutrients to your skin that are removed from daily cleansing with regular soaps. Olive Oil leaves no oily residue on the skin and is suitable for every age group and skin type – even gentle enough for a baby’s skin.
Coconut Oil:
Coconut Oil is a rich, creamy texture in our soap which also adds hardness while generating lots of natural fluffy, bubbly lather. It is highly moisturizing with a saturated nature which also helps to resist rancidity.
The health benefits of coconut oil in cold process soap for skin are amazing; the oil possesses antimicrobial, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and antioxidant properties.
Coconut oil for acne is a great natural remedy that contains no harsh, damaging chemicals or preservatives. It helps to kill acne causing infections, decreasing the look of acne scars and helping to prevent new ones and alleviating inflammation caused by severe acne. It helps to fight acne break outs as it keeps skin healthier and nourished.
Topically, Coconut oil can be used on the skin and hair. For your skin, it’s great for soothing dryness and even irritation from rashes. It is also good for fighting wrinkles and signs of aging. Common skin disorders like psoriasis and eczema can be taken care of, along with simple chores like removing eye makeup without the use of chemicals.
Coconut Oil is not like other oils used to soften rough, dry skin. It absorbs easily, keeps the skin soft and yet without feeling greasy. Coconut oil in soap contains medium chain fatty acids which are utilized for skin nutrition and energy when directly absorbed into the skin. This provides all the energy your skin needs to heal and maintain itself. It is an excellent ingredient used in healing salves and ointments.
Coconut oil will not only bring temporary relief to the skin, but it will aid in healing and repairing. It can help bring back a youthful appearance. The coconut oil will aid in removing the outer layer of dead skin cells, making the skin smoother and healthier while penetrating the deeper layers of the skin to strengthen the underlying tissues.
In the making of soaps, Coconut Oil does not have a tallow smell nor the smell of a vegetable oil. Instead, it has a nice fresh smell and is the most important oil that we use in soap making.
Palm Oil :
We use an all natural, high quality, pure food grade Palm Oil derived from pressed Palm and especially created for soap making. Palm oil makes a nice stable, hard bar with rich, creamy lather when used in combination with other oils such as Coconut and Olive oils.
Promoting skin health, Palm oil serves as the richest natural source of Vitamin E family of antioxidants. This high Vitamin E content also helps to promote healing of minor skin irritations, burns and cuts. Another antioxidant present in palm oil is Vitamin A, in the form of beta-carotene. These antioxidants protect your body from free radicals, molecules that damage your body’s cells and contribute to an increased risk of various skin health problems. Moisturizing Palm oil used in soap serves as an emollient, treating dry, damaged skin and reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Shea Butter:
We use only the finest Organic Unrefined African Shea Butter, with no additives. Shea Butter has a natural thick and often nutty aroma. Chemicals, deodorizers, or bleaches are often used to change the natural scent or appearance of Shea Butter. Altered Shea Butter depletes the product of it's healing and medicinal properties and also destroys the vitamins & minerals naturally present in Shea Butter. Shea Butter in soap adds a wonderful creamy lather, great conditioning properties and some hardness to the bar. The conditioning and soothing properties of shea butter are very good. Raw African Shea Butter is a perfect oil for soap because it is moisturizing, nourishing, soothing, anti inflammatory and anti aging. Shea Butter is gentle enough for use on sensitive skin and children, yet effective enough to be trusted for everything from hand washing to cleaning out minor scrapes and abrasions. Shea butter also contains naturally occurring antibacterial compounds, such as cinnamic acid, that further help to fight germs and bacteria, and is also helpful for skin irritations and rashes that need soothing and healing help. Because raw Shea butter is naturally anti inflammatory, using it to wash areas that are inflamed, irritated and in need of disinfecting and protection, it is the perfect gentle and effective ingredient for your soap. It is claimed to soothe burns, reduce wrinkles, help heal acne and even provide natural UV protection.
Because raw Shea butter is such a natural rich and effective moisturizer, using it for making soap is ideal because it will help to feed and soften the skin as it cleans. Compared to most oils, Shea butter has a higher amount of unsaponifiable compounds, which means that more of the buttery, nourishing and moisture rich Shea Butter is delivered to the skin when used as a soap. It also is high in skin nourishing vitamins, namely vitamins E, A and C, all of which act as antioxidants to stop the negative effects of harmful free radicals. Vitamins A and C also act as catalysts to the skin to produce more collagen, which in turn fills out wrinkles, aids in faster dermal healing, and results in skin that is plump, tight and resistant to sagging.
Honey:
Honey is a natural, rich golden brown, liquid made by honeybees and stored in honeycombs. We use Honey in our soap for so many reasons - the benefits of honey are numerous, external as well as internal! Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidants & moisturizing for the skin. It speeds healing, reduces scars, relieves burns & fungus. Natural vitamins in Honey are: B1, B2, B5, B6 and C. Its minerals are: magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium, chlorine, sulphur, iron, phosphate, copper, iodine and zinc. Its sugars are glucose & fructose. Honey has been used for generations for health and beauty treatments. Honey is useful for any skin types: dry, oily, acne, sensitive & heals minor infections from burns, cuts, small wounds, yeast & fungus. Honey is also pain relieving, it soothes and cools the skin while it speeds up the healing process.
For dry skin, honey is a humectant, attracting and retaining moisture and helping to keep the skin hydrated.
For oily or acne prone skin, honey absorbs dirt and impurities from the pores, helping to remove blackheads. Its antibacterial properties fight infections and prevent infections from reoccurring or worsening. Honey speeds healing of acne & reduces scars.
For Premature aged skin, honey has antioxidants! It fights damaging free radicals that cause a variety of issues: dark spots, discolorations, fine lines, wrinkles & sagging.

For centuries Lavender Oil has been harvested and prized for its unique aroma and medicinal properties. Lavender has been used from a sedative to a natural antiseptic. It's used in a myriad of products ranging from bubble bath to high end skin care products yet gentle enough for babies. Grapefruit Seed Extract:
We use GSE in our soap for a preservative, antibacterial and antioxidant ingredient. GSE is a thick, golden, all natural antioxidant that extends the shelf life of our soap by helping to prevent delicate oils from going rancid over long period of time. Cold Process soap has a PH level that does not allow mold or bacteria growth in soap so a preservative is not required. However we do include it to ensure long-lasting freshness along with it's overall skin care qualities. Harmful artificial chemical preservatives can cancel out the benefits of natural ingredients. Unlike many artificial preservatives found in store bought cosmetics, GSE won't harm your skin by clogging pores and damaging skin cells. Besides being a great natural preservative, GSE also contains high contents of anti-oxidants, Vitamin C & Vitamin E which benefit skin & improve your overall complexion.
Food Grade Sodium Hydroxide Lye Micro Beads:

FUN SOAP STUFF
Useful Uses for Soap Ends & Pieces!
- The simplest solution and perhaps the most obvious: Just stick the sliver to the bottom of your next bar. Use a bit of water to seal it. Nothing fancy here, but it totally works.
- Make a self-soaping cloth by wrapping a small assortment of soap scraps in a wash cloth, and tying it shut with a piece of string to create a sort of sachet. Keep it in the shower for quick and easy scrubbing action.
- Save your scraps and stuff them into the toe of an old pair of pantyhose, tie it up, and hang it near your outside faucet. This is a great way to guarantee you’ll have soap on-hand for when you’re finishing up a day in the garden, or doing some other outdoor dirty work. Bonus: Like the self-soaping wash cloth, the pantyhose will help to create a lather.
- You can also use this soap-on-a-rope trick to keep pests like deer away from your garden and fruit trees. As above, just drop a few soap slivers into the toe of an old pair of panty hose, tie it up, and hang it from whatever plant you’re trying to protect. The soapy smell will keep those critters away.
- Did you know you can make homemade laundry detergent? Place a collection of completely-dried soap scraps into a food processor and grind them to a crumbly powder. In a large bowl, combine 2 parts washing soda, 2 parts borax, and 1 part soap crumbles. Mix thoroughly and store in a mason jar. Use 2 tbsp per load of laundry.
- Keep a sliver of soap in your sewing or craft kit. It’s perfect for scoring a seam or otherwise marking the fabric. Since the soap washes out so easily, it makes an ideal replacement for tailor’s chalk.
- Body wash isn't cheap, and slivers of leftover bars can be saved to make body wash for the bath or the shower. Save thin pieces that would otherwise end up in the trash, and once you have about a dozen slivers, put them in the blender along with a little hot water. Add the water slowly so the mixture doesn't become too runny. Blend the soap and the water until it reaches the right consistency, and pour it into a plastic bottle.
- A bath mitt is ideal for using up leftover slivers of soap, and it's a great substitute for a bath puff. Slip a sliver of leftover soap inside the bath mitt and wash as usual. Surprisingly, a small piece can go a long way, and more than likely you'll get a few more uses out of a single sliver.
- You can put the pieces into a mug for men to use for shaving. Use the shaving brush to lather and apply...works great.
- You can collect them until you've got enough to make one or two bars in a jar. Put about 1/3 jar of water and let sit until the bars melt. Spray a small container (plastic food container works fine) with non-stick spray, mix the melted bars well and then pour into the container to make a new bar of soap...or two. Or, you can shape them into small balls.
- Cut a hole in the middle of a sponge and shove the soap bits in there. Instant soapy sponge!
- You can put all the small pieces of soap into a mesh type bag (garlic and onions come in an open type mesh) that you get when you buy different produce. One end is usually sewn shut. I use a type of bread clip for the other end. This has worked better than a pantyhose, because it allows the soap to dry.
- Since bar soap seems to melt into small pieces very quickly, we always have pieces too small to use for bathing. We lift the back of the toilet and drop in the small pieces of soap. You would be surprised how it helps keep the toilet bowl clean. You very rarely have to brush the toilet bowl, as the pieces of soap are continually cleaning it.
- A normal bar of soap can work well as a lubricant when applied to metal. Use soap on screws before you screw them into hardwood. You can also use soap to speed up a stubborn zipper. Run your handsaw blade over a bar of soap and it will cut through wood more easily. It also will speed up the runners on windows, sliding doors and drawers.
Q & A
Question: What's the white stuff on the bottom of my soap?
Answer: No worries! It's called Soda Ash & occurs occasionally if soap dries too fast when curing. It's difficult to control humidity and all the other elements which effect our soap when it is curing. But it is completely harmless and will disappear once soap is used the first time. Some soapmakers will shave or trim it off their bars but we choose not to as it has no benefits to do so.
